Archaeology in the Blackstairs, a farming story past and present
People have farmed the Blackstairs Mountains for thousands of years, all through that period our ancestors left their own indelible mark on the land, they influenced how habitats and landscape developed and they left behind evidence of their homes, their tombs, their way of life. Many of these monuments are still there and the Blackstairs have more of them than most
To explore this legacy and the connections between farming communities past and present the ACRES Leinster team are hosting a talk on Archaeology in the Blackstairs by Seamus O Murchu in Rathanna Co. Carlow on Thursday October 12th at 7:30pm. The ACRES Leinster team will be on hand to discuss the developing ACRES Scheme with local farmers afterwards.
All welcome, no charge, see you there.
