All Commonages in ACRES Breifne CP have been Assessed
The team in Manorhamilton have completed the assessment of all commonages within the ACRES Breifne CP zone, all 21,760 ha of them. The team also contributed to the assessment of commonages in ACRES Leinster and commonages outside of the Cooperation Project Areas.
Walking the commonages is not the end of the road, the data collected has to be inputted into the Dept. of Agriculture, Food and the Marines computer system so that payment to farmers can be calculated. We also have to communicate the details of the assessment to farmers and most importantly what they can do to increase their score and grow their payment. More than enough to keep the team busy for a long time yet.
